Andrews Consulting Group Reveals
e-Commerce Research Results

On October 10, executives from many prominent North American firms gathered in New York to hear Andrews Consulting Group present its latest research on the e-commerce strategies of established enterprises. As they learned, e-commerce is rapidly becoming the competitive weapon, not only of "dot-com" startups, but also of established companies like their own.

The research project, which Andrews Consulting Group is conducting under commission from IBM Corporation, will determine how established firms in the financial service, retail, wholesale, and transportation industries are incorporating e-commerce into their business models. While the study is still underway, preliminary results indicate that many "brick and mortar" firms are moving aggressively to open electronic transaction channels with their customers, distributors, and suppliers. It is Andrews Consulting Group's belief that such "click and mortar" firms will realize positive returns on their e-commerce investments more rapidly than "dot-com" firms, and will gain significant advantages over slower competitors.
